Preparing a Will has become easier with HDFC Securties launching an electronic will (e-will) service. An e-Will can be generated by registering on the company's website and by paying a fee after which one will have to feed one's personal details, property details and details of allocation of your assets. The company gives you 60 days to feed your data and generate a Will. At present, the service, for which a fee of Rs 4,000 is levied, is available to customers of HDFC Bank only.

HDFC Securities offers this service in collaboration with WillJini, a legal partner, which assists individuals to write their personal "e-Will" online. WillJini provides succession services including tax planning, advisory, drafting of will, Probate services and disputes / litigations for will matters. The company has team of in-house experienced lawyers to provide all services for Indians, NRIs and foreigners having properties in India.

Aseem Dhru, Managing Director and CEO, HDFC Securities, says, "The service enables individuals to securely draw up a tenable e-will online with ease and convenience. The service is completely confidential, and does not store any personal details. This service will greatly reduce the time spent on creating a Will."

The Will is sent to the creator for approval. "Once it is approved, a tenable Will is prepared for execution. The company has also given an option to prepare a Will according to your religion," says Dhru.
