Idea Cellular has launched two sets of roaming vouchers for its subscribers in the backdrop of the new roaming regime coming into effect on July 1.
While one of the vouchers is priced in the Rs 230-240 range and allows customers to get free incoming calls, the other pack is priced in the Rs 35-40 bracket and will allow subscribers to receive incoming calls at 75 paise per minute while roaming.
"Idea's new value vouchers priced between Rs 230-240 and another priced between Rs 35-40 offer the same rates for local, STD, ISD calling, and SMS, as the user pays for using these services while in the home circle," a statement from the company said.
Both the roaming packs are valid for six months.
Shares of Idea Cellular closed 1.02 per cent down at Rs 141.10 on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
Telecom regulator Trai had last month reduced ceilings for national roaming calls and SMS and instituted a new regime for providing flexibility to telecom service providers to customise tariffs for national roamers through Special Tariff Vouchers and Combo Vouchers.
The regulator, however, clarified there'll be no national roaming for now.
