After Apple Inc was criticized for having launched the iPad in India only this January, the company has decided to give India better treatment this time. On Friday, iPad 2 hit Indian stores, after one month after its US launch. (Also see: The faster, lighter, thinner iPad 2 )

The iPad 2 comes with a new design that is 33 per cent thinner and up to 156 per cent lighter than the original. It has a 9.7-inch LED-backlit LCD display. Powered by Apple's new dual-Core 5 processor for fast operation and stunning graphics, iPad will now have two cameras: a front-facing VGA for FaceTime and one at the rear for capturing HD videos. With a 10-hour battery backup, the tablet will be available in both the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G versions.

Apple has decided to price the iPad 2 fairly.
