After occupying the factory premises for eight days
, striking workers at Maruti Suzuki India's Manesar plant on Friday night started vacating from the work spot, obeying the order of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The move comes after the company on Friday sacked 25 more workers at the plant even as the agitators were insisting on continuing the strike inside factory premises.Govt declares Maruti strike illegal
"We have decided to honour the High Court order and so vacating the premises. However, we will continue our agitation outside the factory gate," President of the non-recognised Maruti Suzuki Employees Union (MSEU) Sonu Gujjar said.
When contacted, a top Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) official confirmed that workers have started vacating the Manesar plant.
