Retail price inflation for agricultural labourers, measured by CPI-AL, rose to 2.9 per cent in May 2021 from 2.7 per cent in April 2021.
The food group, which accounts for 69.15 per cent of the consumption basket of agricultural labourers, saw inflation rise to 1.5 per cent from 1.2 per cent.
Inflation for agricultural labourers for pan, supari, tobacco and intoxicants increased 8.65 per cent on y-o-y basis in May 2021.
Fuel and light inflation increased 2.3 per cent in May as compared to 1.9 per cent in April 2021.
Inflation for clothing, bedding and footwear increased by 5.28 per cent in May 2021.
Inflation for rural labourers, measured by CPI-RL, rose to 3.1 per cent in May 2021 from 2.9 per cent in April 2021.
