Union Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu has announced a major aviation and infrastructure push for Varanasi, promising Delhi-like airport facilities, including runway expansion, a new terminal, and multi-level car parking within the next 13 months. The minister also revealed that six new airports will soon be integrated into India's hub-and-spoke aviation model to improve connectivity and drive economic growth. Highlighting the role of airports in transforming local economies, Naidu said improved air links are helping farmers, artisans, and exporters access global markets. From Assam's litchis reaching Italy to Bihar's produce entering Singapore and Dubai, the government believes aviation can become a powerful engine of growth. Varanasi's handlooms, silk, fruits, vegetables, and crafts are expected to benefit significantly.
