Amazon CEO Andy Jassy’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi puts India squarely at the center of Amazon’s global growth story. The company has announced plans to invest an additional $13 billion in AI and cloud infrastructure by 2030, taking its total planned investment in India to more than $48 billion for 2026-2030 and over $88 billion cumulatively by 2030. Amazon also plans to launch 20+ fulfillment centers and 100+ last-mile delivery stations this year to strengthen speed and reach across tier 3 and 4 cities. Alongside logistics expansion, Amazon unveiled ‘Sammaan’ for delivery associate welfare and pledged support for jobs, exports, AI adoption among small businesses, and digital education across government schools nationwide.
