Energy Expert Narendra Taneja warned that India’s oil marketing companies could face severe financial stress if global crude prices remain elevated and geopolitical tensions continue. Calling the situation alarming, Taneja said fuel companies are already “close to being sent to the ICU” and may need “ventilator support” within 30 days if they are not given greater pricing autonomy. He stressed that for an import-dependent economy like India, protecting the financial health of energy companies is critical during periods of global uncertainty and war-driven oil price volatility.
