Talks on the long-pending India-European Union Free Trade Agreement are progressing, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed that the 14th round of negotiations was held in Brussels in October, followed by visits by negotiating teams to India. He added that further discussions took place in December to address outstanding issues, with both sides remaining actively engaged. While several complex matters are still under negotiation, the MEA said conversations are moving forward constructively. The India–EU FTA is seen as a key step in deepening economic ties, boosting trade, and strengthening strategic cooperation between New Delhi and Brussels as both sides work toward a mutually beneficial agreement.
