External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has described India and Mongolia as "strategic partners" and "spiritual siblings" during his visit to Ulaanbaatar. Reviewing progress on key bilateral initiatives, Jaishankar highlighted the deep civilizational, cultural and democratic ties that bind the two nations. Discussions covered a wide range of areas, including development projects, education, technology, trade, energy, security and people-to-people exchanges. Mongolia has also sought India's support in strengthening English-language education across the country. Jaishankar emphasized cooperation on major projects such as the refinery initiative, ICT centre and other development programs. He reiterated India's commitment to taking the strategic partnership to greater heights while further strengthening Buddhist heritage links and expanding collaboration in regional and global forums.
