Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis unveiled a massive AI-focused vision during the Mumbai Tech Week 2026 briefing. The state is targeting nearly ₹10,000 crore in AI investments while aiming to create around 1.5 lakh jobs in the sector. Fadnavis also announced that 2000 GPUs will be made available for innovators and startups to accelerate AI research and development in Maharashtra. The move is aimed at positioning the state as one of India’s leading AI and innovation hubs. In another major announcement, the Chief Minister said the Central Government is working on the “Indiavistaar AI” app for farmers across the country, highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence in agriculture, governance and digital transformation.
