Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, speaking at the Kautilya Economic Conclave 2026, said India’s resilience has been built “consciously layer by layer” since 2014. She highlighted stronger state capacity, production capabilities and wider participation in economic growth. Sitharaman pointed to initiatives including Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile, Direct Benefit Transfer, PM Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat, Ujjwala, Ayushman Bharat and PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, saying these measures have helped strengthen household-level resilience and give citizens greater capacity to pursue education, livelihoods and enterprise.
