Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has described the India-UK Free Trade Agreement as the most comprehensive trade deal India has ever signed. Speaking about the landmark pact, Goyal said the agreement will come into force in July and reflects India's growing confidence in engaging with advanced economies. He emphasized that India is no longer benchmarking itself against countries at a similar stage of development but is aiming to compete with the world's leading economies. According to Goyal, the agreement will help Indian businesses evolve, integrate into global value chains, expand exports and build stronger partnerships with British companies. The India-UK FTA is expected to create new opportunities across sectors while strengthening economic ties between the two nations and boosting long-term growth prospects.
