On Startup Day, PolicyBazaar CEO and co-founder Yashish Dahiya praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push to make entrepreneurship a national movement. He said Modi’s vision of “less government, more governance” has helped build a powerful startup ecosystem across India. With over 75,000 entrepreneurs from 653 districts and startups spanning 46 industries, India is seeing innovation at scale. Dahiya highlighted how initiatives like Startup India rankings, the fund of funds, and global startup bridges are driving healthy competition among states and encouraging new businesses. Digital platforms such as UPI and India Stack have made it easier for startups to solve real problems. According to Dahiya, startups like PolicyBazaar alone have created over 15,000 jobs, proving that entrepreneurship is now India’s strongest growth engine.
