Abdullah Abu Shawesh, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to India, characterised the ongoing conflict in the Middle East as a "cluster" and a "clear war" launched by the United States and Israel against Iran. He asserted that the current violence is not a recent development but a continuation of a struggle that began with the Balfour Declaration in 1917. Abu Shawesh emphasised that a lasting solution is impossible without addressing the historical roots of the issue, including the 1948 ethnic cleansing and the 1967 occupation. He warned that the instability in the Middle East has global repercussions, specifically stating that the Indian people will endure the negative effects of the conflict. Highlighting the interconnectedness of regional security, he maintained that "no one is safe until everyone is safe." The Ambassador also noted that the war has now evolved to impact Iran and the Gulf states, further complicating the devastating humanitarian situation.
