Google will be joining hands with Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, HTC for after-sales service of the new Pixel series. Google will be launching the Pixel phone in India just in time for the Indian festive season, on October 13.
Pixel is sporting itself as a direct competition to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in a relatively scant premium phone segment. The Mountain View company has announced that it will make the new Pixel available via 1000 retail outlets spread across 30 cities.
The company released a statement saying that it has partnered with HTC India who will provide 56 walk-in service centres across the country. Apart from the walk-in service centres, the phone will come with an inbuilt customer care feature that will allow every single user to access 24x7 services within the convenience of a chat box.
The phone will be available for pre-booking on India's leading e-commerce website, Flipkart October 13 onward. The device will also be available in brick and mortar stores including Croma, Reliance Digital, Jumbo, Spice Mobility, Vijay Sales, Poorvika and Sangeetha Mobiles by the end of this month.
Google Pixel will be introducing a new dimension of Android devices that are created by the software giant itself. Similar to iPhones, the device's manufacturing process will be closely scrutinised by Google to provide a much optimised user experience.
After the shutdown of Samsung's Galaxy Note 7, Apple and Google will be tussling with each other in the premium flagship segment. The Pixel and Pixel XL will be trying to hurt Apple in the camera segment where it boasts a better DxO score of 89 in comparison to iPhone 7's 86 which is a fair parameter but still needs real-life testing.
