Celebrating a milestone of flying 200 million passengers, IndiGo is offering flight tickets starting at Rs 999. The low-cost carrier said that it is offering tickets for flights between Delhi and Jaipur for an all-inclusive fare of Rs 999. Bagdogra to Guwahati flight tickets start at Rs 1,005 under the new offer.
The budget carrier claims it is charging Rs 1,095 for a Coimbatore to Chennai flight. Flight tickets on Jammu-Srinagar route are priced at Rs 1,112, and on Chennai-Bengaluru sector, the tickets are priced at Rs 1,120, according to airline's website. The 999 offer on flight tickets from Delhi to Jaipur were available from mid- January.
With the year 2017 coming to an end, airlines are gearing up to cash in on people planning vacations early next year, or those who're frequent domestic flyers.
Earlier this month, AirAsia offered tickets at an all-inclusive price of Rs 1,099 on the routes like Bhubaneswar-Kolkata, Kochi-Bengaluru, Hyderabad-Bengaluru, Goa-Bengaluru, and Imphal-Guwahati routes.
InterGlobe Aviation, the owner of India's biggest airline IndiGo, reported a rise in quarterly profit, helped by compensation received from Pratt & Whitney and Airbus on aircraft groundings and delivery delays. IndiGo is among several carriers facing delays in receiving planes from Airbus due to problems with new engines supplied by United Technologies' Pratt & Whitney, which forced the airline to ground as many as nine planes.
