At the BT India@100 Summit, Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe was asked whether he expects to complete his three-year tenure amid the attention and controversy surrounding his actions. In conversation with India Today TV’s Preeti Choudhry, Mundhe said his tenure ultimately depends on the government, which decides postings for civil servants. He stressed that he does not focus on how long he will remain in a particular position, but on what he can contribute during that time. Mundhe said his biggest achievement would be to help turn the demand for safe and standard food into a public movement across India. Addressing his strong social media support, he cautioned against relying solely on online momentum. He said meaningful change requires people to act physically, mentally and intellectually, rather than simply forwarding messages on social media.
