It is gratifying to note that this election season, most conversation is not about caste politics, but development politics. Three Chief Ministers from across the country - Goa, Haryana, and Jharkhand - came together on Thursday (December 5) at the Agenda Aaj Tak 2013 to discuss what development meant to them.

Goa Chief Minister, Manohar Parrikar, spoke about the need for human development as much as need for what he called physical (infrastructure) development. Goa has the highest per capita income in the country.

Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister, Haryana reiterated his commitment to inclusive development, insisting that his state has a transparent land acquisition process. He denied that any land use laws had been subverted to benefit Robert Vadra, Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son in law

We have not given a single inch of land in the last nine years, there have been no exceptions," he said.
