Vishal Pandya's Hate Story 3 gave a stellar performance at the Bollywood box-office making Rs 22.50 crore in its first weekend, says boxofficeindia.com.
The film, which hit the screens on December 4, has already surpassed its budget and is a hit in just three days of its release.
The movie earned Rs 8.25 crore on the opening day (Friday), on the second day it made Rs 6.75 crore (Saturday) and on Sunday it earned Rs 7.50 crore which makes a total of Rs 22.50.
Hate Story 3 is the third installment in the Hate Story franchise. Hate Story grossed Rs 12 crore and Hate Story 2 grossed Rs 23 crore and Hate Story 3 is similar to Hate Story 2 in three days. The costs have also gone up but Hate Story 3 has emerged the biggest success in this franchise so far.
The Sharman Joshi, Zareen Khan, Karan Singh Grover, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Daisy Shah starrer is a tale of a cocktail of lust, revenge, betrayal, sex and all else in between.
This is Karan Singh Grover's second film after 'Alone' in which he starred opposite Bipasha Basu.
