There is a time and place for everything. This was revealed by haute horologists earlier this year at Geneva (Salon International de la Haute Horologie) and Basel. The two cathedrals of chronometry clocked in timepieces that were products of tradition combined with technological innovation. There were watches that relied on simple, classical lines, as well as rugged timepieces meant for adrenalin-junkies.
Complications remained popular as did skeleton dials that showcased the magic of mechanics lurking underneath. Lightweight materials, especially titanium and ceramic, were popular. Dials remained dark for the most part, with black being top choice. Options galore. 2010 is clearly the year of good times. A dekko.
