WHAT: Infosys Q4 results
WHEN: April 24
WHAT TO LOOK FOR: With TCS flagging off the results season, all eyes will now be on Infosys. The company's CEO Vishal Sikka will likely articulate the strategy for financial year 2015/16.
WHAT: FM Phase III e-auction
WHEN: From April 24
WHAT TO LOOK FOR: The first batch of FM Phase III comprises 135 channels in 69 existing cities of Phase II. Every applicant shall be allowed to run not more than 40 per cent of the total channels in a city, subject to a minimum of three different operators in the city.
BUDGETING FOR BILLS
WHAT: Budget Session Part II
WHEN: Lok Sabha meets from April 20 till May 8; Rajya Sabha from April 23 till May 13.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR: The government will renew its efforts to reach out to regional parties for passage of the land bill, which is facing stiff opposition from non-NDA parties. Both the Houses are expected to have 13 sittings each in the second part of the Budget session.
FROM JAPAN WITH LOVE
WHAT: Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's US tour
WHEN: April 26-May 3
WHAT TO LOOK FOR: Abe will become the first Japanese leader to addresss a joint session of the US Congress. The visit will focus on deepening trade and military ties. Beijing and Seoul will be closely watching what Abe says in a special statement to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II, during which its Asian neighbours suffered from Japanese militarism.
WHAT: Full mobile number portability
WHEN: May 3
WHAT TO LOOK FOR: MNP will enable mobile users to retain their phone number while moving to a new city, even if they change their service provider. This will require more investments to tweak the network as a phone number is currently locked to a particular circle. Telcos may have to take a hit in revenue generation.
