Over 89 golfers teed off on a bright Saturday afternoon at the picturesque Hyderabad Golf Course for the LLOYD Business Today Pro-Am of Champions 2017.
Set among the Golconda Fort complex, the Hyderabad Golf Association (HGA) golf course - a 18 hole, 6057 yard, Par 71 course is one among a few courses set next to a heritage structure.
With significant changes in elevation, plenty of water hazards in play & slick greens the course offers fabulous views of the 400 year old Golconda fort and the walls of the Naya Quila complex envelop many a hole to offer a unique golfing experience.
A modern clubhouse with a floodlit driving range, a pro shop with golf fitting shop & adequate training & practice facilities have enabled HGA to become the top golfing destination in the twin cities.
Played on the Stableford format with Double Peoria handicap system, the windy afternoon witnessed some great golfing action with players vying for both individual as well as team prizes.
The day's action culminated with the prize distribution ceremony followed by dinner.
The winning team comprising of Dhiraj Jaiswal (CAT Technologies), L. K. R. Reddy (Cael Technologies), Umapathi Reddy ( Card Box) & Vasu Merugu (NCR) with a combined score of 105 points, was crowned as Hyderabad Hurricanes and also earned themselves a place in the Pro-Am National finals to be held in Delhi in February 2017.
The team comprising of Ritesh Kumar Daga (Nishant Enclaves), Ashok Reddy Marri (Velkare Healthcare Services), Ghouse Mohiuddin (GM Construction) & Savi Abrahim finished Runners Up with 103 points.
In the Individual prizes, Vasu Merugu (NCR) was the winner with 39 points in the 0-14 handicap category and Ghouse Mohiuddin (GM Construction) won with 39 points in the 15- 24 handicap category.
