Q. I am planning to buy a tablet and my budget is Rs 15,000. There are a plenty of tablets listed on Flipkart but I am confused which one to buy. My primary usage of buying a tablet is to watch videos. Ridhima, on email
A. Of the many tablets listed on Flipkart, the tablet that suits your needs is Xiaomi Mi Pad. The tablet isn't too heavy to hold and offers a great video watching experience. The sound output is loud. The variant available in India comes in white and offers only 16GB onboard storage. However, it can be further expanded using a memory card slot. This tablet is priced at Rs 12,999 and does not require any registration to buy it from Flipkart.
Q. I am planning to buy the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Do you think it is a good idea as many new phones are out now with better configuration? My budget is Rs 30,000. Abhinav behl, on email
A. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was a great device but it came out in 2013. While the smartphone is still a decent buy, you can consider OnePlus One 64GB variant for Rs 21,990. But it will not offer S Pen functionality. Another option worth considering is Motorola Moto X 2nd Generation.
Q. I am planning to buy a 50-inch LED TV . I was reading about VU Technologies and Mi cromax launching affordable UHD TV s. Shall i consider one? Or go with the full HD 50-inch TV from established players? Rishabh Gupta, on email
A. UHD, also referred as Ultra HD TV, offers four times HD resolution. Everything appears to be crisp and sharp on this TV. If you are investing in one at the moment, you will not change your TV for next four-five years. I will suggest you to consider a 50-inch UHD from Micromax or VU Technologies as they will not hurt your pocket much and your TV will be future ready. You will not have to invest in a 4k TV when this technology will become popular in coming years.
