My first role model
My first guru
My kathak teacher, Mrs Shrestha
My first job
A vegetable 'reseller', at the age of six. I would steal veggies from our refrigerator, don a nineyard Maharashtrian sari and resell them to any willing buyer. I was a natural Baniya entrepreneur
My first boss
My father. During summer vacations, I would go to his pathology lab and be there eight to 10 hours a day. I wanted to fit in with the staff so I too called him, 'Sir'.
My first promotion
In school, when I was elected captain. I was thrilled because despite my campaigning for my competitor, I was the unanimous choice of my peers.
My first disappointment
My internship at Goldman Sachs in New York. I didn't feel passionate about the work and didn't have enough friends there.
