BBM by BlackBerry Limited
The launch of the much awaited BBM app has been delayed, but there were a lucky few who were able to download it on the iPhone before it was pulled off the App Store. The BBM for iPhone appears to have the same interface as on the BB 10 platform. Those with existing accounts are asked if they want their BBM to be shifted to this device, others have to create a new account. Once you approve, all contacts are moved here. The app allows only messages, voice notes and images, as it doesn't support screen share or video calling like on the BB devices.

QuickOffice/by QuickOffice
This isn't a new app, but has recently gone free on iOS. Acquired by Google, the QuickOffice app is a handy office suite like Microsoft Office on your smartphone. It allows us to create new Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and edit the existing ones of the phone. Configured with the Google account, it can also access files on Google Drive and save new files to this location. This also lets you share documents with others.
Free

Big Boss Official/By ColorsTV
Diehard Big Boss fans can stay up to date about the happenings of Season 7 through this app. One can watch episodes of the show or browse through mini clips and spoilers. There is also an option to vote for the contestants as well as an »eexclusives»f segment for app users. Plus, there is a list of contestants which is updated as soon as the participants are nominated. The streaming over data connectivity and Wi-Fi were both smooth.
Free

Talkboard/by Citrix
This is a live collaboration app for creative people. The app lets you create sketches over which multiple people can work and collaborate online. The app is a great sketching tool, though without the kind of advanced tools that Paper or other sketch apps offer. However, it is easy to use and with some intuitive gesture for undo and redo. If none of your collaborators are online you can choose to share the files over mail.
Free

Pumatrac/By Puma
This new running app for the iPhone from Puma keeps track of the running stats including milestones, routes and runs. You have to join in using Facebook or Twitter or register an email. Once done, it asks for the location services to be turned on to determine the weather and the location. Unfortunately, it doesn't work if the location services are turned off.
Free

Locate/By MapmyIndia
MapmyIndia has come up with an app that can be used to track the location of your peers. After creating an account on the app, you can send a request to another 'locate' user and customise the tracking schedule. You can schedule a tracking, but it works only if the other person has checked-in with the app.
Free

Directr/By Directr, Inc.

An app for those who are fascinated by video, Directr lets you stitch multiple clips into a longer video file. Plus, there are storyboards for the most used topics like pets and food where you just have to fill the blanks with clips of your choice. The app also has an Instagram-like feed to showcase other people's works.
Free

StoryDesk By StoryDesk
This iPad app creates enterprise-level presentations within minutes. The best thing is that you can add files from desktop and sync it with your tablet to work on the presentations. We found the app a bit tough to handle if you are not familiar with the formats of presentations.
