We were just wondering how India’s first “manufactured” limousine, the Tata Indigo XL, has been doing. It was supposed to make buyers of Honda Civics and Skoda Octavias think twice because it offered huge amounts of legroom and lots of fancy features.

They didn’t, because the XL had the handling characteristics of a small container ship and plastics that were definitely not in keeping with the positioning of the product.

While Tata Motors did not divulge definite figures for the XL, a spokesperson did say that the aesthetic modifications that the regular Indigo got along with the XL has given sales a “fillip” over the past few months.
