Thinking of buying a 50-inch 4K LED TV? Till sometime ago, you would have to spend close to a lakh and a half to get one. Not anymore. Vu Technologies, a US based premium consumer technology brand, has launched a 50-inch 4K 3D LED TV at a much affordable price as compared to the likes of Samsung, Sony and LG.

Design: It has got a straight line design with a very sleek bezel that gives it an elegant look. The rear is made of white plastic. Physical controls and connectivity ports (4 HDMI and 3 USB) are [placed] at the rear. There is an LED indicator that blinks blue or red to show the status of the TV, which weighs 18 kg.

Setup: One doesn't have to wait for the technicians to come and install it as it comes with a setup guide that makes it easy to unbox and mount. In less than a minute, I was able to mount it on the table stand included in the box. After connecting it to power, we simply had to turn on the button.

Experience: It has a 3840x2160 pixel resolution that makes watching 4K content a delight. Even the regular content looks superb. As 4K content is not readily available at the moment, it does support content upscaling. It has got great viewing angles too: 178-degree horizontal as well as vertical, which means you can continue to watch it while sitting on a side.

Sound: The sound output of the TV was impressive for a small room measuring 20 feet as it packs in two 10 watt speakers. If you want to further enhance the experience, just pair it up with a home theatre system.

3D: Unlike many players in the market that don't offer 3D glasses with their TVs, Vu Technologies has added two 3D glasses in the box. The TV supports various preset 3D modes and even upsales 2D videos into 3D.
