Budget phones are selling like hot cakes. Nokia has now updated its sub-Rs 10,000 line-up with the Lumia 630. It doesn't look revolutionary different from its predecessor but has got a slightly better look and feel.
This is a dual SIM smartphone and the two micro-SIM slots are hidden beneath the back cover. It is 9.2 mm thick and comes with a polycarbonate back shell wrapped around its 4.5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display, which has 480 x 854 pixel resolution.
It isn't the best display around and it doesn't support automatic brightness either.
While the touch response is good, the sunlight legibility is just average. It is the first handset to ship in with Windows Phone 8.1 in India.
The OS brings in the much needed Action Center, where all notifications come under one hood. There are four customisable toggles too. The Battery Saver app allows you to check the apps that are power hogging, Data Sense helps to set data usage limit, Wi-Fi Sense automatically connects to the passwordprotected Wi-Fi hotspots used in the past, and Storage Sense helps to clear catches and manage apps.
