Canon SX600 HS
The SX600 HS packs in an 18x optical zoom in a sleek plastic body that can be easily slipped into your jeans pocket. At 188 grams, it isn't that heavy either. The red plastic looks decent. The front is dominated by the lens while the flash is placed on the top edge that pops out. In addition, the top edge houses the shutter button release with a zoom ring around it and the power button.
There is a large 3-inch display at the back with various keys. This camera packs in the company's proprietary Digic 4+ image processor. The camera has a 1/2.3-inch CMOS sensor.
The zoom has a focal length of 4.5 mm (wide) to 81 mm (telephoto), and a f/3.8 aperture. It has an ISO range of 100 to 3200 and a plenty of modes, including Hybrid Auto, Creative Shot, Auto, Program, Portrait, SmartShutter, High-speed Burst, Handheld NightScene, Low Light, Fish-eye Effect, Miniature Effect, Toy, Camera Effect, Monochrome, Super Vivid, Poster Effect, Snow, Fireworks and Long Shutter. The camera manages to capture good details when used during daylight.
The colours appear natural. One has to ensure that the camera is held steady, otherwise it results in blurry images. At night, it does a decent job but isn't the best. The camera captures images at 1080p resolution
