Gold hit a fresh three week high early Thursday, after jumping 1.5 percent overnight, helped by a weaker dollar and diminishing expectations of an interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve at its meeting next week.

International benchmark Brent crude oil futures were trading at $49.59 per barrel at 0041 GMT, down 30 cents, or 0.6 per cent, from their last settlement.
Crude markets did receive some support from the start of the US summer driving season coinciding with a fall in US crude output to its lowest since September 2014.
