In a temporary respite to Indians living in America, the proposed work ban on spouses and relatives of H-1B visa holders will not be enforced for the time being. A US court has refuse to reverse, for now, a 2015 rule issued by former (US) President Barack Obama that permits spouses of H-1B visa holders to work in America.

Saudi state oil giant Aramco will sell 0.5% of its shares to individual retail investors and the government will have a lockup period of a year on further share sales after the initial public offering, its prospectus said on Saturday. The more than 600-page prospectus did not include details of how much of the company would be floated in total or of any commitments from anchor investors.Sources have said the company could sell 1%-2% on the Saudi stock market in what could be the world's largest listing.

The currency in circulation has jumped a whopping 20.14 per cent to scale Rs 21.59 lakh crore, show the latest Reserve Bank data, which was the third anniversary of the controversial note-ban. Reducing the cash dependency in the economy  was one of the stated motives of the decision to cancel as much as 87.6 percent of the currency in circulation on November 8, 2016. The RBI data on Friday showed the currency with the public grew 15.2 per cent to Rs 21.59 lakh crore as of the fortnight to October 25, as against Rs 17.97 lakh crore on November 4, 2016.

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding Inc (BABA.N) on Monday said sales for its annual Singles' Day shopping blitz hit 158.31 billion yuan ($22.63 billion) in its first nine hours, up 25% from 126.72 billion yuan at the same point last year. Akin to Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the United States, Singles' Day has been promoted as a shopping fest by Alibaba Chairman and Chief Executive Daniel Zhang since 2009, growing rapidly to become the world's biggest online sales event.
