Netflix to make television debut with subscription-based channel 'Direct'

Netflix is ready to make its debut on television in France with a subscription based channel called 'Direct'. The decision to choose France is a result of the country's consumption of traditional TV. This new linear feature may also appeal to older demographics that make up a significant portion of households in France. According to reports from Variety, the channel will air French, international and US feature films and TV series that are available on the streaming platform.

With a donation of Rs 7,904 crore, IT major Wipro's Azim Premji topped the list of philanthropists in India for financial year 2019-20. HCL Technologies' Shiv Nadar was second on the list, followed by Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, India's richest man, according to EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2020. Azim Premji, who created headlines by announcing a $21 billion commitment to charity, pipped HCL Tech's Shiv Nadar, who had earlier topped the list, by a wide margin. He donated Rs 7,904 crore at a rate of Rs 22 crore per day in FY20, as against Rs 426 crore in the previous fiscal.

FAA in final stages of reviewing  Boeing 737 MAX; grounding order likely to be lifted on Nov 18

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration is in the final stages of reviewing proposed changes to Boeing Co's 737 MAX and expects to complete the process in the "coming days," the agency's chief told Reuters on Monday. The FAA is set to lift its grounding order on the plane as early as Nov 18. The FAA decision comes as other global regulators are also moving closer to decisions on allowing the plane to again resume flights and could approve the MAX around the time U.S. regulators act, the sources said.
