India's Reliance Industries Ltd is looking to buy fashion and child-focused retailers abroad and partner with global sports and beauty brands as part of its expansion into consumer markets, a top executive told Reuters. Under Asia's richest man, Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Industries is pivoting from an oil-led conglomerate into a more consumer-facing company, selling everything from handbags to broadband to try to tap into Indians' rising disposable incomes.

INX Media case: Delhi Court sends P Chidambaram to Tihar jail for 14 days

A CBI special court has sent veteran Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram to Tihar jail in connection with the INX Media corruption case. Chidambaram will remain under judicial custody there for 14 days, till September 19. Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar pronounced the order on Thursday.

Mother Dairy hikes cow milk price by Rs 2 to Rs 44 per litre

Leading milk supplier Mother Dairy has increased price of cow milk by Rs 2 to Rs 44 a litre in Delhi-NCR, with effect from Friday. The retail price has been increased as the company is paying more to farmers for procuring raw milk. However, there will be no increase in rates of other variants of milk.
