'Will volunteer to take COVID-19 vaccine first to end trust deficit': Harsh Vardhan

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Sunday said that he will be the first person to take COVID-19 vaccine so as to dispel the "trust deficit" around the same. In an interaction on social media, Vardhan said that even as no date has been fixed for the launch of the coronavirus vaccine, it may be ready by the first quarter of 2021. He also said that the vaccine will be given first to the people who need it the most and it will be irrespective of their paying capacity.

Flyers can take photos, videos in flights, clarifies DGCA

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Sunday clarified that passengers can take photos and videos inside flights. However, the passengers can't use any recording equipment that creates chaos, disrupts flight operations, violates safety norms or is banned by the crew members.The regulator had said on Saturday that a scheduled flight will be suspended for a period of two weeks if anyone is found taking photographs inside the plane.

Retail inflation to come down with easing of lockdowns: CEA KV Subramanian

Belying fears of an adverse effect on the economy due to coronavirus-prompted lockdown, Andhra Pradesh saw over Rs 4,000 crore spike in its tax revenue in the first four months of the current financial year compared to the corresponding period last year. Andhra Pradesh earned a tax revenue of Rs 19,114.73 crore from April to July in 2020-21 compared to Rs 15,017.77 crore during the same period a year ago.
