Modi 2.0: One third of Union Council of Ministers are first-timers

One-third of the total ministers in the Modi's 2.0 Cabinet are the first-timers, which includes BJP president Amit Shah and former foreign secretary S Jaishankar. Two former chief ministers, Ramesh Pokhriyal (Uttarakhand) and Arjun Munda (Jharkhand), have taken oath as Union ministers for the first time. This will be the first innings as Union ministers for six Cabinet ministers and 13 Ministers of State in the Modi government

Renault and Fiat Chrysler stuck over merger terms: report

Talks between Fiat Chrysler and Renault have hit a roadblock over the financial terms of the proposed merger between the Italian-US and French carmakers. Renault said earlier this week it is studying "with interest" a 50-50 merger proposal from Fiat Chrysler (FCA), a deal that would forge the world's third-largest automaker.

Riding on a huge mandate, Modi was sworn in on Thursday as prime minister for a second term, heading the National Democratic Alliance government, in the presence of a large gathering of national and international dignitaries.

BYJU'S turns profitable, aims to clock Rs 3,000 cr revenue in FY20


Online education startup BYJU'S on Thursday said it has turned profitable on a full year basis in FY19 and aims to clock revenue of over Rs 3,000 crore this fiscal. BYJU'S, which raised USD 540 million (Rs 3,865 crore) in funding in December last year, tripled its revenue to Rs 1,430 crore in FY2018-19

Nirav Modi: UK court asks for confirmation of prison cell in India


Nirav Modi, wanted in fraud and money laundering charges amounting to nearly USD 2 billion, was on Thursday remanded till June 27 by a UK court, which directed the Indian government to confirm within 14 days which prison he is to be held in if he were to be extradited.

Efforts to import crude oil from Iran beyond accepted levels will be sanctioned: US to India


Any efforts to import Iranian crude oil beyond the accepted levels negotiated from November to May will be sanctioned, the US has warned, amidst reports that India and China were seeking ways to buy oil from Tehran. US President Donald Trump last month refused to give waivers to countries like India from buying oil from Iran, in an attempt to reduce Iran's oil exports to zero.
