Auto rebound with 20% growth in August

Barely 24 hours after India reported its worst economic performance in a quarter, the domestic automobile sector showed signs of a strong revival with a 20 per cent growth in dispatches of passenger vehicles in August over the year-ago period. The numbers are on a low base of last year when industry volumes had declined by a massive 31.6 per cent, which was then a record fall for a month. Yet, it builds on a rebound that has been visible in the months of June and July as well.

Infosys to hire 12,000 Americans till 2022

IT major Infosys on Tuesday said that it plans to hire 12,000 American workers over the next two years, bringing its hiring commitment in the country to 25,000 over five years. In 2017, Infosys had committed to hiring 10,000 American workers over two years.

GST revenue collection in August stands at Rs 86,449 crore

Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collection for the month of August stood at Rs 86,449 crore, the government data showed on Tuesday. The collection is lower than July's Rs 87,422 crore. The GST collection stood at Rs 98,202 crore in August last year.
