Coronavirus claims 2 lives in US, authorities step up testing for virus
The deadly coronavirus continues to spread. Health officials in Washington state said Sunday night that a second person had died from the coronavirus. Researchers said the virus may have been circulating for weeks undetected in the greater Seattle area. A man in his 70s died Saturday. On Friday, health officials said a man in his 50s died of coronavirus. Both had underlying health conditions, and both were being treated at a hospital in Kirkland, Washington, east of Seattle.

Anand Mahindra's M&M to compete with Ola, Uber with launch of cab aggregator service
Auto manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra plans to enter the shared mobility services segment with the launch of a cab aggregator, called Alyte, for corporates. The introduction of the service will put M&M  in direct competition with Ola and Uber. The company claims a quarter of Alyte's fleet will be EVs in the next two-three years.

China factory activity dives to worst on record as coronavirus paralyses economy - PMI
China's factories were dealt a devastating blow in February as the coronavirus epidemic triggered the sharpest contraction in activity on record, a private survey showed on Monday, with the health crisis paralysing large parts of the economy. The Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) tumbled to 40.3 last month, the lowest level since the survey began in 2004, and down sharply from the 51.1 reading in January as well as the 50-mark that separates growth from contraction.

Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said the Modi government was all set to give a major boost to the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the country. "MSMEs account for 48 per cent of the exports and employ 11 crore people. We are giving a major boost to the MSME drives the economy," Gadkari said. The MSME minister added that India needs an institute for enterprises and entrepreneurship.

Delhi Riots: 254 FIRs registered, over 900 people arrested
The Delhi Police has registered 254 FIRs and arrested or detained 903 persons in connection with the northeast Delhi violence, a senior officer said on Sunday. Forty-one of the cases were registered under the Arms Act, they said. According to police, they did not receive any PCR calls of rioting in the last four days. The situation in the riot-affected areas is under control, a senior police official said.

Facebook, Twitter, Google rebel against Pakistan's new digital law
Digital media giants Facebook, Twitter and Google have threatened  to suspend services in Pakistan after Prime Minister Imran Khan's government gave approval to new social media regulations in the country. As per the new rules, Pakistan has made it mandatory for social media companies to open offices in Islamabad (capital of Pakistan). Besides, the country has instructed these digital giants to build data servers to store information and take down content upon identification of authorities.
