US asks Pakistan to take 'meaningful action' against terrorist groups

The US on Wednesday firmly asked Pakistan to take "meaningful action" against terrorist groups operating on its soil and underscored the importance of avoiding escalation at any cost after India targeted terrorist camp in Pakistan.US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in a phone call with the Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also called for avoiding military action. In a separate call with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Pompeo emphasised the close security partnership between the US and India and shared goal of maintaining peace and security in the region.

Nepal calls for peace in region, dialogue between India and Pakistan

Tanks feeding defence establishment in forward areas along the border with Pakistan are all "topped up" and have enough fuel to meet any eventuality, they said.

Hyundai Creta crosses 5 lakh cumulative sales milestone

Hyundai Motor India Wednesday said its SUV Creta has crossed 5 lakh cumulatives sales milestone since its launch in July, 2015. The company has sold 3.7 lakh units of the SUV in India and over 1.4 lakh units across international markets. "With the record sales of over five lakh units in less than four years by any made-in-India SUV, Hyundai Creta has yet again set a new benchmark in the industry," Hyundai Motor India National Sales Head Vikas Jain said.

Music streaming service Spotify Wednesday announced its foray into the Indian market, where it will compete head-on with players like JioSaavn, Amazon Music and Gaana. The Swedish firm said it will offer local and international music for Indian listeners with the app available to download for free. Users can also upgrade to Spotify Premium for Rs 59 onwards per month.
