India moves up 14 spots to 63 on World Bank's ease of doing business ranking

India jumped 14 places to the 63rd position on the World Bank's ease of doing business ranking released on Thursday, riding high on the government's flagship 'Make in India' scheme and other reforms attracting foreign investment. The country also figured among the the top 10 performers on the list for the third time in a row. The rankings come at a time when the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), World Bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF) and various rating agencies have slashed the country's growth forecasts amid a slowdown in the global economy.

US securities exchange to probe whistleblower complaints against Infosys

Infosys on Thursday said the US Securities and Exchange Commission had launched an investigation into whistleblower allegations against Chief Executive Officer Salil Parekh and Chief Financial Officer Nilanjan Roy. "The company has been in touch with the Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") regarding the anonymous whistleblower complaints ("anonymous complaints") and has learnt that the SEC has initiated an investigation into this matter. The company will cooperate with the SEC's investigation," Infosys told stock exchanges.

According to a NASA scientists, this could be because of two reasons-- one, the lander is lying in shadowed part of the moon or second, Vikram is located outside the area US space agency photographed.

Samsung updates software to fix fingerprint recognition problem of Galaxy S10, Note 10

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has updated software to fix problems with fingerprint recognition features on its flagship Galaxy S10 and Note 10 smartphones, it said on Wednesday. Samsung issued an apology via its customer support app Samsung Members and told its Galaxy phone users to update their biometric authentication to the latest software version.

Festive season discounts, incentives and cashbacks drive digital payments, says survey

While India's payments landscape is largely driven by cash, digital payments are making headway. Going by a recent survey, one in every three respondents went cashless during the festive season, that is, 32 per cent of those surveyed used at least one digital payment method during the survey period. Only one in 10 respondents (10 per cent) claimed to have not made a single digital payment in the period leading up to Diwali.
