Business activity of the micro, small and medium enterprises - which are regarded as the backbone of Indian economy - is fast reaching near-normal levels, and rapidly adopting digital business tools to drive efficiency and growth, according to a report. Out of 36, 16 states and UTs are witnessing business activity levels higher than pre-COVID times, while Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi are trending at 90-95 per cent of their pre-COVID levels, as per the data gathered by startup OkCredit

Indian officials said India is also gearing up to operate a VBM flight from Delhi to the central Chinese city of Wuhan on November 6.
Delhi airport starts COVID-19 testing facility for passengers before departureDelhi airport has now commenced a coronavirus testing facility at the airport for domestic and international departing passengers. The COVID-19 testing facility was available from September 12 but it was limited to international arrivals only. The facility will be beneficial for those passengers who are taking an international/ domestic flight but don't have an RT-PCR test result. Such passengers can come to the airport around six hours before and get the COVID test done at the airport by paying Rs 2,400 and get the result in 4 to 6 hours.
Serum Institute to roll out COVID-19 vaccine in India by January 2021: Adar PoonawallaThe COVID-19 vaccine being developed by Oxford University and British firm AstraZeneca may be available in India by January 2021, chief executive of Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII) Adar Poonawalla said on Wednesday. The vaccine, dubbed as Covishield for Indian market, is currently undergoing Phase 2 and 3 trials in the country. On ongoing clinical trails, the 39-year-old CEO said that the present data indicates that there are no immediate concerns related to Covishield.
India secures rights to buy 600 million coronavirus vaccine doses; negotiates for more
India has secured rights to buy coronavirus vaccines for a large portion of its population, states a study. India has pre-ordered 600 million doses. It is now in the process of negotiation for additional deals to pre-order 1 billion doses for the rest of the population. According to data compiled by Duke Global Health Innovation Center, most of the rich countries have already purchased 3.8 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines that are yet to be approved.
Govt extends 60% cap on flight capacity till February 24
Centre has extended the 60 per cent limit on flight capacity for Indian airlines till February 24. This cap on flight operations, which was put into effect in September, will now continue for most of the aviation winter schedule. The extension of flight capacity limit comes even as airlines claim an improvement in passenger demand.
