Two operational creditors take Jet Airways to NCLT, hearing on June 13

In a major setback to the lenders' revival/sale plan of the grounded Jet Airways, two operational creditors--Shaman Wheels and Gaggar Enterprises-- Monday moved the NCLT seeking bankruptcy proceedings against the airline. The tribunal issued notices to Jet Airways and banks which own the airline now and posted the matter for further hearing on June 13 when it will decide on admitting or rejecting the bankruptcy pleas.

Slowdown Blues: Maruti Suzuki cuts production by 18% in May

Maruti Suzuki India has cut vehicle production for the fourth consecutive month in May, according to a regulatory filing. The largest car manufacturer in India has reduced its production by 18.1 per cent on an annual basis, manufacturing 1,51,188 units in May, including Super Carry LCV. Maruti Suzuki had produced 1,84,612 units in the corresponding month last year.

TCS overtakes RIL to become most valued firm by market-cap

Tata Consultancy Services on Monday surpassed Reliance Industries to become the most valued firm by market valuation.

At the close of trade, the market capitalization (m-cap) of TCS was at Rs 8,37,194.55 crore, which was Rs 1,170.47 crore more than that of RIL's  on the BSE

Delhi High Court stops 60 websites, radio channels from broadcasting ICC World Cup 2019

The Delhi High Court has restrained over 60 websites and a few radio channels from broadcasting the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019 event

Flipkart moves manufacturing for private labels to India from China, Malaysia

Walmart-owned Flipkart has reportedly relocated a significant portion of manufacturing and sourcing for its in-house brands to India. The homegrown e-commerce major was sourcing products for its brands from China and Malaysia. This move has helped Flipkart to reduce costs and comply with the government's Make in India norms.

Turkish group hacks Amitabh Bachchan's Twitter account, posts anti-India tweets

Twitter account of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan was hacked by Ayyildiz Tim, a pro-Pakistan Turkish hacker group. The attacker changed the profile pic, cover photo and Twitter bio of Big-B's account. The profile photo of Mr. Bachchan was changed to that of Pakistan's PM and former cricketer, Imran Khan. The attacker claimed that it has captured the DMs and important data of the Bollywood star. The account of Amitabh Bachchan has since been restored and the posts made by the hacker group were deleted

Nissan appoints Sinan Ozkok as President of India operations

Japanese auto manufacturer Nissan on Monday announced the appointment of Sinan Ozkok as the President of its Indian operations. He will replace Thomas Kuehl who was appointed as President of India operations in 2017. Sinan, 49, joined India from Nissan Otomotiv A.S. (NOAS), Nissan's national sales company in Turkey, where he was managing director since 2015.
