Zomato controversy: Food delivery boys cry foul; to strike from Monday against delivering beef, pork

Food delivery app Zomato has courted yet another controversy, this time it is within the company itself. The food delivery boys of Zomato have decided to go on strike from Monday protesting that the food being delivered by them hurts their religious sentiments. The executives have objected to delivering beef or pork during the festive celebrations of Bakrid or Eid al-Adha this week. They have also refused to deliver the food which is against their religious beliefs.

The government said it will soon address issues affecting the real estate sector after industry bodies and homebuyers met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to flag their concerns regarding liquidity crunch, demand slowdown and stalled projects. Godrej Consumer's Vivek Gambhir highest paid FMCG CEO in FY19

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) MD and CEO Vivek Gambhir was the highest-paid FMCG honcho in FY19 followed by HUL's Sanjiv Mehta, according to information from both the companies' annual reports. While Gambhir received a total compensation of Rs 20.09 crore, Mehta took home Rs 18.88 crore. Both Godrej and HUL are amongst India's top FMCG players.
