OnePlus 6 gets first software update that allows hiding notch
The OnePlus 6 received its first software update after going on sale. The software update brings the Android security patch for the month of May, ability to hide the notch, and some improvements in the camera department. Now users can shoot slow motion videos in 1080p at 240fps and in 720p at 480 fps after the installing the security update. The latest security update also brings the quick portrait to OnePlus 6. The OnePlus 6 also gets the OnePlus Switch with the new software update which allows users  to easily transfer data from their older OnePlus devices to new ones.

Xiaomi to launch Mi 8 on May 31 in China
Xiaomi has confirmed that it will launch the Mi 8 during an event in Shenzhen on May 31. The company shared a teaser about the event on Chinese social media website Weibo. The Mi 8 is expected to run Snapdragon 845 under with a maximum of 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Xiaomi Mi 8 is also expected to sport advanced facial recognition technology able to compete against Apple's FaceID.

Vivo Apex may be launched on June 12
After enticing the tech world with its truly bezel-less design, the Vivo Apex is expected to be launched in June. Vivo has reportedly sent out invites for an event in Shanghai on June 12 where the phone is expected to make an appearance. The Vivo Apex sports a 5.99-inch screen with 1.8mm thick bezels, a 4.3mm thick chin, and no notch. It comes with a periscope front camera which pops up while taking selfies. The Vivo Apex also comes with an under-screen fingerprint scanner that covers half of the screen.

HTC launches U12+ with quad-camera setup
HTC launched its new flagship offering, the U12+, today. Up front, the device sports an 18:9 QuadHD+ screen. Under the hood, the HTC U12+ runs the Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6GB of RAM. Coming to memory, the device offers 64GB and 128GB of storage. The talking point of HTC U12+ is its quad-camera setup. At the rear are a 12MP sensor with wide lens and a 16MP sensor with telephoto lens. The HTC U12+ has piped the Huawei P20 in DxOMark test with a score of 103 to reach the second spot.
