Punjab National Bank, which plunged 9.81% yesterday on detection of fraudulent transactions worth $1.77 billion (about Rs 11,335 crore) fell further 8.09% today to 134 level. The stock was the top loser on BSE bankex which was trading 66.21 points or 0.23% higher at 28,675 level.

November factory growth fastest since late 2016 currency shock. November's Nikkei/IHS Markit Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index rose to 52.6 from 50.3 in October. A Reuters poll which had predicted a more modest rise to 51.0, anything above 50 indicates growth. The reading was the strongest in 13 month.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales declined marginally to 2,79,837 units in October from 2,80,677 units in the same month last year. Car sales were down 5.32 per cent to 1,84,666 units last month as against 1,95,036 units in October last year, data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) show.
