The pre-booking for the phones was started on August 24 and in just three days around 6 million units of Jio feature phone were booked. The booking process, however, was put on hold temporarily so that the company could deliver the booked phones on time.

JioPhone was open for pre-booking on August 24. Despite initial hiccups in the booking portal, the pre-booking garnered a lot of numbers; with numbers ranging from 3 to 4 million units.

JioPhone was launched in the last AGM of Reliance Insdustries Limited, with Chairman Mukesh Ambani promising to deliver cheaper data to all through this device.

The company promised that the device will be available for testing by August 15 and users will be able to pre-book the device on August 24.

The Big Bytes offer comes with additional broadband data up to 1000 GB, unlimited local and STD calls with a validity till March 31, 2018.
