Google is allowing third party software developers to peep into your Gmail InboxThe Mountain View tech giant, Google, has been allowing third-party app developers to scan through inboxes of Gmail users, according to a recent Wall Street Journal report. In June last year, Google stopped scanning user's emails, which was being done to provide personalized ads. Despite personally curtailing the inapt practice, it has allowed hundreds of third-parties to continue doing the same. The report said, \"Google does little to police those developers, who train their computers - and, in some cases, employees - to read their users' emails.\" While many companies use machines to skim email messages for keywords and phrases, few allow their employees to read through user's messages. \"Email data collectors use software to scan millions of messages a day, looking for clues about consumers that they can sell to marketers, hedge funds, and other businesses.\"  Apple's new 6.1 inch iPhone with LCD panel might be priced as low as $600Apple's new iPhones have been a subject of curiosity since Apple launched the iPhone X and its younger siblings. Numerous reports have suggested that the Cupertino-based company will be selling three iPhones this year. Single-handedly, it was analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who has provided the maximum amount of details about the three iPhones that will launch later this year. Now, the analyst has cleared the air about the pricing of the cheapest of the three iPhones. Kuo claims that Apple has reduced the pricing of the iPhone that uses LCD by ditching the second camera module and pressure sensitive 3D touch. According to a report by 9to5Mac, Kuo claimed that the cheapest iPhone will be priced in the range of $600-$700 which roughly translates to Rs 41,000-Rs 48,000. Earlier, the same analyst has estimated a slightly higher price point but Apple's recent changes have brought down the price of the device. In India, the device is expected to be priced substantially higher than the launch price in the US.Around 8 lakh Facebook users affected by bug that unblocked blocked usersThe Chief Privacy Officer of Facebook, Erin Egan, revealed on Monday that accounts of 8,00,000 users were affected by a bug which unblocked some people that they had blocked. Egan also apologised for the same, indicating that the ability to block someone is considered important by Facebook. The bug was reportedly active between May 29 and June 5. While people who were unblocked could not see content shared with friends; they could see content directed to a much wider audience, eg pictures shared with friends of friends. 83 per cent of users affected by the bug had only one person in the blocklist temporarily unblocked. The company would be informing those affected with a pop-up message encouraging them to check their blocked list.

OnePlus to develop the first 5G smartphoneThe next OnePlus device might very well be the first 5GB smartphone ever. Talking at Mobile World Congress in Shanghai, OnePlus chief Pete Lau said that the company is exploring its partnership with Qualcomm to develop one of the first 5G phones. The launch of the next OnePlus flagship, which is likely to be called OnePlus 7, will be in sync with the first yeatr of 5G in the US. OnePlus is also looking into carrier deals in the United States to expand its reach in one of the most important markets in the world.Redmi 6 Pro launched in ChinaXiaomi added the Redmi 6 Pro to its new generation of Redmi smartphones. The device was launched in China earlier this week. The redmi 6 Pro comes with the trusted Snapdragon 625, coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The three variants of the device get either 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, depending on their memory configuration. At the front is a 5.8-inch FullHD+ screen with a display cutout at top, the first in Redmi devices. At the back is the familiar Redmi design language with a dual camera setup featuring 12MP and 5MP sensors.Xiaomi sells a million units of Mi 8 series, Mi Band 3It was a week of milestones for Xiaomi. The Chinese tech giant sold a million units of its recently launched Mi 8 series in a span of 18 days. A million units of the Mi Band 3, which was launched alongside the Mi 8 series were sold in only 17 days. The video call is available to all Instgram users, and they will only  have to update their apps to the latest verison. Reports suggest that the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has failed to answer critcial questions about the UPI-based payments services asked by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. WhatsApp Payments has been in Beta since February and is being tested by one million users.

Samsung Galaxy J8 with AMOLED Infinity Display to go on sale in India from June 28The Samsung Galaxy J8 has finally gone on sale in India. Samsung launched the Galaxy J8 in India last month and the company had announced the device would be available on June 20th. However, it did not go on sale on the date and was postponed to June 28. The device will be available via Samsung's offline retail outlets. The J8 will be available across most major retailers, including Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm and even Samsung's own online store. The device is priced at Rs 18,990 and has been released in Black, Blue and Gold.Vivo Nex S and Nex A to launch in India on July 19The Chinese technology company, Vivo, is geared up to introduce two new smartphones in India, i.e. Nex S and Nex A on July 19. On Wednesday, Vivo sent an invite indicating new developments in the near future. Vivo's current flagship phone in India is the X21, which is priced at Rs.35,999. The Nex S and Nex A series will offer superior hardware and software specifications and will supersede the X-series. One of the most notable features of the phone is the presence of a pop-up camera. The application has rolled out support for video calling within its messaging interface. It also received a few major updates including an all-new IGTV interface and platform for longer video uploads.The new video calling feature on Instagram is available to all users. To access the feature, you'll have to update the app to the latest version.In order to make a video call, the user will have to head to the chat section and select a contact. In the chat section, you'll find a camera icon on the top right corner for video calling. Tap the new camera icon in the right corner, and the video chat will ring your friends' phones.Samsung to launch Galaxy Note 9 on Aug 9 Samsung is all geared up to launch its latest flagship, Galaxy Note 9. The upcoming Galaxy Note series will be unveiled in New York on August 9. The handset is likely to come with an upgraded battery and faster wireless charging. Press invites have been sent for the big event which will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York at 11 am EST (8:30 pm IST) on August 9.The Galaxy Note 9 will feature a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Earlier this month, renders of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 were leaked from OnLeaks. Renders reveal the phone to be thicker and also have horizontal camera arrangement. However, it is still recommended to download the beta profile on a spare iOS device and not your primary iPhone or iPad.Apple starts manufacturing iPhone 6s in IndiaLast year, Apple started the production of the iPhone SE in India, making it the first 'Made-in-India' smartphone. Now the company is all set to add another iPhone to the list. According to a report by The Economic Times, the company has started assembling iPhone 6s in India. The device is being commercially manufactured, which essentially means that if you go and buy an iPhone 6s, there are high chances that it will have the \"Made in India\" badge on it.Apple is building the new phone in collaboration with their Taiwan-based manufacturer, Wistron. The Taiwanese company has setup an assembly line for the new device at the Bengaluru facility. The new phone will be an upgrade to the current iPhone SE that has been on the production line since May, last year.Xiaomi sells over a million units of Mi 8 series devices in just 18 daysXiaomi sold more than 1 million units of the Mi 8 Series in just 18 days. Currently, the phones are only available in China but are expected to launch in India as well. Xiaomi launched the Mi 8, Mi 8 SE and the premium Mi 8 Explorer Edition last month and all the devices featured a notch-display. The smartphones went on sale in China from June 5. The Mi 8 went on sale in China on June 5 while the smaller Mi 8 SE went on sale on June 8.Donovan Sung, the global spokesperson of the company took to Twitter and said, \"Sharing some amazing news. The Mi 8 series first went on sale on June 5. Just 18 days later, we've already sold over 1M units!\".  It must be noted that out of the three smartphones, the Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE are already available in the market. However, the Explorer Edition is likely to be released in July.
