While a record number of firms made their IPO debut in 2017, many key players plan to enter the primary market this year and raise funds for their expansion and growth. We look at some of these firms which are gearing up with their IPOs in 2018.

Axis Bank is in trouble after coming under the SEBI scanner for leakage of price sensitive information (PSI).

The multi-speciality hospital has already raised a little over Rs 150 crore from its anchor investors, including Goldman Sachs, Global Markets, HSBC Global Investment Fund, Reliance Nippon Life Insurance Company, Nomura Singapore Ltd and SBI Life Insurance Company.

The share buyback, is the first in the company's 36-year long history, and will see Infosys buying back over 11.30 crore shares at Rs 1,150 apiece. At 11:36 am, the stock was trading 0.36 percent higher at 986.50 level in an otherwise weak market.

The year 2017 saw a flurry of Initial Public Offers (IPO) which created a lot of buzz on the Dalal Street. While some stocks listed at discounts over their issue price, others made blockbuster debuts  and reaped huge gains for their investors.  We look at top five IPOs of 2017 which have delivered maximum returns over their issue price.

Tata Global Beverages September-quarter group consolidated net profit at Rs 144 crore versus profit of Rs 127 crore last year. Eicher Motors Q2 consolidated net profit at Rs 518 crore versus profit of Rs 413 crore last year. Shares slip 1.67 percent to 30,050 level.

The Rs 9,600 crore IPO was subscribed 1.19 times  during its three-day bidding from November 1 to November 3.

Market breadth was negative with 763 stocks rising against 1950 falling on the BSE. Lupin (17.30 percent), Cipla (6.47 percent), State Bank of India (3.19 percent) were among the other top losers.

The government is selling around 12 crore shares or 14.13 percent stake in the insurer through the share sale offer in a price band of Rs 770-Rs 800 per share. 9.6 crore shares are being sold in the state-owned insurer besides a fresh issue of 2.4 crore shares. 

The IPO will remain open for subscription till November 6, the company said. Net proceeds from the issue would be utilised towards payment of loans and for general corporate purposes.

Around 12 crore shares or 14.13 percent stake of the insurer will be sold through the share sale offer in a price band of Rs 770 -Rs 800 per share. The government will sell 9.6 crore shares in the state-owned insurer besides a fresh issue of 2.4 crore shares.  Retail investors and employees will get a Rs 30 discount on the price of a share.

The Bharti Airtel stock closed 1.29 percent or 6.35 points higher at 499.15 level ahead of its Q2 earnings to be announced today. Meanwhile, Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) is likely to buy Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL) in a share-swap deal to become country's second-largest oil refiner.
