HUL Q2 results: Net sales of the country's largest consumer goods maker increased to Rs 9,708 crore in Q2FY20 as compared to Rs 9,138 crore in Q2FY19

Infosys share price opened with a loss of 3.27% at Rs 789 today compared to the previous close of Rs 815.70 on BSE. Infosys on Friday reported a 2.21 per cent decline in its consolidated net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2019.

Although Q2FY20 is likely to mark the slowest volume growth since Q1FY18, the positive impact of tax cut will show up from Q4FY20

Data released by the income tax department also showed that the number of people filing return in 2018/19 jumped 16 per cent to 6.33 crore compared to 5.45 crore in the previous year

Infosys also announced an interim dividend of Rs 8 per equity share. The company has fixed October 23, 2019 as record date for interim dividend and October 30, 2019 as the payment date

This is the second successive quarter when the IT major has missed estimates in terms of both revenue and margin

Infosys had clocked a 5.3% year-on-year growth in its consolidated net profit at Rs 3,802 crore for Q1 (April-June 2019).

The net profit declined 7.5 per cent sequentially from $29.1 million last quarter to $26.9 million this quarter.

While the Sensex fell 470 points or 1.37% lower at 34,301 level, the Nifty shed 127.70 points or 1.22% to 10,325. Top Sensex losers were Reliance Industries (5.10%), Infosys (2.95%)  and YES Bank (2.27%).

The second quarter results for Infosys were expected to be good and the company doesn't seem to have disappointed the analysts.
