WhatsApp launches new One-Way Broadcasting feature for group chatsWhatsApp's new One-way Broadcasting feature has been rolled out to most devices. The new feature lets a group admin dictate what is posted in a group. As the feature's name suggests, it's a one-way flow of messages. The group admin will be the only person who can post within that group. The new feature is being rolled out to all Android, iOS devices and is already in place within the Groups in your WhatsApp chats. To access the feature, go to the WhatsApp group where you are an admin and then tap on the group's name and select 'group info'. Within 'group info', go to 'group settings' and then select 'send messages'. A pop up will ask you to choose who can send messages in the group. Select 'only admins' to activate the new feature.Group info>Group settings>Send Messages>Admins onlySamsung launches Galaxy On6 at Rs 14,490; will be Flipkart exclusiveSamsung, the South Korean electronics conglomerate, has launched the Galaxy On6 in India. On6 is another in the line of On-series mid-range phones launched by the technology giant. The phone will be exclusively available on Flipkart, and will sport the Infinity Display technology which is said to offer 15 per cent more display area without increasing the overall phone size. It will compete with the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, and the Realme 1, to name a few. The dual-SIM smart-phone features a 5.6-inch HD+ (720x1480 pixels) Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio and 293ppi of pixel density. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience UX. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC clocked at 1.6GHz, coupled with Mali T830 MP1 GPU and 4GB of RAM.OnePlus launches sixth variant of OnePlus 6, new Red colour will go on sale from July 16OnePlus 6 is currently available in five variants in the Indian market which also includes the silky white and Avengers special edition. However, OnePlus has unveiled an all new colour Red for the device. The company had released teasers with the hashtag #TheRedYouNeed for the new variant and announced July 2 as the date of launch. Last year the company had launched a Red variant of the OnePlus 5T as well. The company unveiled the Red variant of the OnePlus 6 on its Indian twitter handle. There are no details about the availability of the new variant but the company will be start selling the red variant in other global markets from next week. Indian OnePlus fans can expect a similar launch time. We are expecting that the company will release more information on the official availability of the new variant later during the day.

The numbers were released by extrapolating data from the EPFO and National Pension Scheme.However, it remains unclear whether these are new jobs or a result of formalisation of existing employment. Experts are also pointing at the possibility of duplication of data.Google ramps up Gmail privacy controls in major update  Google today ramped up privacy controls in a Gmail overhaul, aiming first at businesses that use its suite of workplace tools hosted in the internet cloud. The \"all new\" Gmail is available to the more than four million businesses that pay for G Suite services. People who use the email service personally for free can opt in by making the choice in settings, vice president of product management David Thacker said in a blog post. Revamped Gmail has \"a brand new look on the web, advanced security features, new applications of Google's artificial intelligence and even more integrations with other G Suite apps,\" according to Thacker. A confidential mode added to Gmail promises to let people sending messages set expiration dates and block them from being forwarded, copied, downloaded or printed. Messages can be revoked after being sent, Thacker said.Study reveals internet shutdown cost Indian economy $3 bn from 2012-17The Indian economy is estimated to have suffered a loss of USD 3 billion due to Internet shutdown in the country from 2012-17, according to a study by ICRIER. The study observed impact of Internet shutdown across various devices and ecosystem linked to them. E-Commerce businesses and online freelancers who operate out of small towns and are completely dependent on a functioning Internet are the most affected by Internet shutdowns, the report said adding that tourism has also become increasingly dependent on the Internet and has been significantly affected.GST Council meet on May 4, simplifying returns on agendaFinance Minister Arun Jaitley-chaired GST Council will meet on May 4 to discuss a simpler return form and the amendments required in the indirect tax regime rules. The 27th meeting of the Council, comprising state finance ministers, will meet through video conferencing and will also mull over the proposal of converting GSTN into a government company. A decision on return simplification could be on the cards with the Sushil Modi-led Group of Ministers putting before the Council the three models of new return form for discussion, an official said.Microsoft is India's most attractive employer, followed by Amazon: surveyTechnology giant Microsoft India has been declared the most attractive employer brand, followed by e-commerce giant Amazon India. The winners were named by HR service provider Randstad's Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2018. Other names in the list include Hindustan Unilever, IBM India, ITC Group, Larsen & Toubro, Mercedes-Benz India, Samsung India, Sony India and Tata Consultancy Services. The REBR covered 75% of the global economy with 30 participating countries and more than 1,75,000 respondents worldwide. Forty-nine per cent of the respondents mentioned that work places need to be open, flexible and should demonstrate a willingness to change in order to retain their employees as well as keep them engaged.

Samsung continues to be most trusted brand in India: ReportSouth Korean consumer durables firm Samsung continues to be the most trusted brand in the country followed by Sony and LG, while Tata Group, the only Indian company to feature in the top five, occupied the fourth slot, according to The Brand Trust report 2018. The top three brands retained their last year's position while Tata moved up a place. US-based Apple took the fifth position, losing a spot from last year.
